Certified Access Specialist (CASp) Program Online Application, Registration and Certification Renewal

CASp offers expedited processing of applications and examination transactions through their easy to use, paperless, interactive online system. Applying into the program and registering for an examination is fast, easy and secure. If you have never used CASp’s online system, you must register and create a user name and password before you may sign in.

Once you have successfully registered, you will have access to the system to complete such transactions as applying into the CASp Program, registering for an examination, changing your personal information and obtaining the necessary forms for renewing your certification. During this process, you will complete a User Profile requiring your email address which will be used by the system to keep you informed of certain events associated with your online transactions. Your username and password are used to identify you each time you connect to the CASp online system.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO CASp FEES

An application fee of $500.00 must accompany the Candidate Eligibility Application, form DSA-600. This fee is non-refundable. Applicants will be notified of acceptance after their application has been reviewed and the necessary criteria have been satisfied. Effective September 19, 2012, and in compliance with SB1186, the application fee for a California licensed architect, landscape architect, civil engineer, or structural engineer shall be reduced (Statutes of 2012, Chapter 383). The application fee for the four disciplines is now $100.00

Forgot your User Name or Password?

If you have already created an account your profile will be saved with the user ID you provided. If you forget the password you used when you first registered, simply click on “Forgot Your Password.” You will be prompted to enter your User Name and hit the submit button. Your password will be emailed to the email address provided in your User Profile. If you forgot your username or continue to experience problems, please contact CASprogram@dgs.ca.gov for assistance. It is not necessary to create another account to register for an examination or renew your certification.

Payment by Check

When paying by check, print and complete hard copies of either form DSA-600 or form DSA-601, whichever is applicable, and mail it in with your check to DSA; both forms are also available online; for form DSA-600 you will have to start the process by creating an account, the link for creating an account is at the bottom of this page; for form DSA-601 you need to log back into your account, the link for logging in is also at the bottom of this page. You may complete the online forms, whichever is applicable, and print out a hard copy, and mail it with your check to DSA. Form DSA-600 can be used for both first-time application and for certification renewal. Please review instructions for form DSA-600 before completing the form.

Online Payment by Credit Card

For fee based transactions such as applying to the program and registering for an examination, you must authorize online fee payment using your Visa or MasterCard. Please have this information readily available before you begin your online transaction. For your protection, DSA does not process payments nor keep any credit card information on file. All fee payments are conducted through a payment processing center using secured transactions.

DSA Form 650

A hard copy of form DSA-650 must be completed along with DSA-600. DSA form 650 is associated with Assembly Bill (AB) 1424. Please see DSA's AB 1424 Notification for additional application requirements related to collection of social security/tax identification numbers. Your application will not be processed until form DSA-650 is received.

Current CASps renewing existing certification are required to complete form DSA-600 and all other forms necessary to verify completion of all Continuing Education Units or to apply for an extension. Log into your account and proceed to MyCASp. Access the link for "My CASp Certification Renewal" or you may access the Certification Renewal Application menu located to the far left at the top bar.
